i only ask cos ive had a japanise ditto for years now but never have i hatched a shiney pokemon!

It takes an extremely long time and a lot of patience.

Most have to hatch at least 4,000 eggs and even more to hatch a shiny pokemon.

Just give it time.

oh ok so if i keep the same pokemon producing eggs eventually itll pay off?!

Eventually, yes.

Though, I've never had the patience to do it. Most don't.

As long as the pokemon are from different nationalities, it should work.

also if you finish the national dex its supposta make the chances of shiny hatching even higher

In BW2 only, if you complete the national Dex (NOT INCLUDING EVENT LEGENDS), you can obtain a shiny charm if you speak to Cedric Juniper who will tell you to speak to his daughter, Prof. Juniper. She'll give you the shiny charm which allows you a higher chance of encountering a shiny through hatching, or a wild encounter. If you're using the masuda method, the chances are also increased further.
