A new location opens in the Pokemon Dream World:

The Pokémon Global Link continues to grow—and now there’s a new place to visit and new items to collect!

Take in the sights of Dream Park, the latest area you can visit in the Pokémon Dream World! Encounter Pokémon that have never previously appeared in the Pokémon Dream World, play a cool new minigame, and find Berries and other items you can bring back to your game. What’s more, the Pokémon you’ll meet will vary depending on whether the Pokémon you’ve tucked in is from Pokémon Black Version 2 or Pokémon White Version 2, or from Pokémon Black Version or Pokémon White Version. If you’re having trouble reaching Dream Park, try tucking in a Normal-type Pokémon to improve your chances of getting there.

Also, when you enter the Pokémon Dream World, check out new Décor items for your home. You can see these new items, including wall decorations, furniture, and more, in your Dream Catalogue!

Head over to the Pokémon Global Link and take a trip to Dream Park today!

The Masters of Worlds Are Ready to Battle!

You can now get the third and final Pokémon World Tournament challenge—featuring players from the 2012 World Championships—for your Pokémon Black Version 2 or Pokémon White Version 2 game! Assemble your very best team and see if you have what it takes to defeat the teams built by World Champion Ray Rizzo, runner-up Wolfe Glick, third-place finisher Abel Martin, and fourth-place finisher Joel Polkowski.

Don’t forget that you can still get the Junior and Senior Division Challenges, which feature other top players from the 2012 World Championships. Good luck, Trainers!

Note: The initial distribution of the “2012: Masters Division Challenge” tournament data for the Pokémon World Tournament contained inaccurate team information for one of the World Championship players. In order to ensure that this player’s team is properly represented, we have fixed the data, and it can now be downloaded at the Pokémon World Tournament.

If you have already downloaded the original “2012: Masters Division Challenge,” you can download the updated tournament data “2012 Masters Division Challenge” and play against this world-class team of Pokémon. Note the updated name—the correct download does not have a colon after 2012 in the title.

There is no effect on normal game play even if you already downloaded the original, inaccurate data.

See every Pokemon with the Habitat List:

Thanks to the Habitat List, you won’t miss a single Pokémon during your journey through the Unova region!

If you’ve been traveling through Unova over the past few weeks, you’ve probably seen quite a variety of Pokémon. But how do you make sure you’ve seen every one? Well, a new function added to the Pokédex in Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 can help!

The Habitat List shows you whether you’ve seen all the Pokémon that live in any given area, as well as which Pokémon you’ve caught. As you’ll see, it may seem like a relatively minor feature, but it’s a huge advance that will make the Pokédex much more useful.

When you first receive your Pokédex, the Habitat List won’t be available. After you’ve defeated Aspertia City Gym Leader Cheren, you’ll bump into Bianca, and she’ll update it to add the Habitat List function.

When you open the Habitat List, you’ll see a list of locations in Unova. Next to each location, you might see a gray Poké Ball icon, a red Poké Ball icon, or an exclamation mark. If there’s a gray Poké Ball, then you’ve seen all the Pokémon in that area. A red Poké Ball means you’ve caught at least one of each Pokémon in the area. And, if you see an exclamation mark, it means the Habitat List has been updated since the last time you checked it. If there is no icon next to a location name, it means you haven’t seen all the Pokémon in that area—so you should keep looking!

For each area, you might see up to three Poké Ball icons. That’s because the Habitat List is actually three lists in one: it tells you which Pokémon you’ll run into by walking around (in tall grass or in caves, for example), which Pokémon you’ll encounter while on the water’s surface using Surf, and which Pokémon you can snag when fishing.

You can get a detailed list of which Pokémon you’ve caught—and which ones you’ve seen but haven’t caught—by selecting a specific area. On this screen, you can quickly tell if you’ve encountered all the Pokémon in a particular area if there’s a Poké Ball icon in the top-right corner. If the icon is not present, keep looking for Pokémon in that area until you find one you haven’t seen.

Also, when you’re examining an area, you can toggle between land, water surface, and fishing. You do this by tapping the three big icons at the bottom of the screen.

There’s another important thing to note about the Habitat List: If you’ve caught a Pokémon in one area, it will be checked off in every area where that Pokémon can be encountered. For example, if you catch Patrat in Floccesy Ranch, it will also be listed as caught for Route 19, Route 20, and Virbank Complex.

With the help of the Habitat List, you’ll know exactly where to go to encounter any Pokémon you may have missed during your adventure—so you can finish completing your Pokédex with ease!

Shop till You Drop on Join Avenue:

The new location between Castelia City and Nimbasa City is full of deals for Pokémon Trainers.

Join Avenue is a massive new facility in the heart of Unova that can offer a number of incredible services for Trainers. This place includes Flower Shops that sell Berries, Dojos that will help train your Pokémon, and Antique Shops that will appraise mysterious items you find, as well as many other useful stores.

While there's a lot to see and do in Join Avenue, it can also be a little bewildering. If you're not sure how to add and improve shops, or confused about what kinds of benefits Join Avenue can provide, you've come to the right place.

Visitors Welcome!

When you take over the management of Join Avenue, it'll be pretty much empty, except for an office. It's your job to seek out people who will open up shops and services. To recruit these entrepreneurs, you'll have to meet up with other Trainers playing Pokémon Black Version, Pokémon White Version, Pokémon Black Version 2, or Pokémon White Version 2.

When you battle or trade with another player, or register someone else on your C-Gear's Tag Log, they might show up as visitors the next time you visit Join Avenue. You don't have to meet someone in person, either—a trade via the Global Trade Station will invite the person you traded with to stop by your Join Avenue.

One important note: you aren't required to connect with other players to have visitors stop by your Join Avenue. A few times a day, non-player characters will pass through, whom you can invite to open shops, as well.

Business or Pleasure?

When you talk to a visitor in Join Avenue, he or she will offer to open a shop (you can have a maximum of eight shops open at any given time). There are eight types of shops available, including a Café, Beauty Salon, and Raffle Shop. There’s even a Nursery where you can leave a Pokémon Egg to have it hatch, which you can open after you've met certain criteria.

You can also ask visitors to go to a store to improve its rank. Every store has a ranking, which affects what items are sold, the effectiveness of its services, and the like. When it’s first built, its ranking is 1; as you get more people to visit, the ranking will climb toward a maximum of 10.

Meet Market Demand

With eight types of stores available and eight vacant spots in Join Avenue, it might seem natural to open one of each service. And that's just fine—you'll get to sample a little of what every type of shop has to offer. But you can open two of the same type of shop if you'd like, and for good reason. Many of the shops offer products and services that vary depending on the visitor that opened them. More specifically, it depends on the game the Trainer was playing when you interacted with him or her.

For example, the florist will carry a different inventory of Berries and Mulch, and the Dojo will specialize in certain stat training depending on the game that the original store-opening visitor came from. You could also open two (or more) Raffle stands, and get to spin the wheel for a cool prize at each one, each day!

If you filled up your Join Avenue and decide you want to change one store for another, go right ahead. Even if all your storefronts are full, the people that visit will offer to open new stores. If you take a visitor up on his or her offer, you’ll have to choose a store to close down before the new visitor can open. In fact, there are Medals for opening up a lot of shops in Join Avenue, so having somewhat frequent turnover of the available shops is a good idea if you're Medal hunting. But remember, when you boot one store to open another, the new store will start at the lowest ranking, and you'll need to keep inviting people into your Join Avenue to increase its rank.

Join Avenue is a great place to help raise your Pokémon and get good items, but the journey to creating a cool place full of shops is itself a lot of fun. So, go meet as many other Trainers as you can, and you’ll develop Join Avenue into place you’ll want to visit over and over!
