I go on the the GTS on my game all the time looking for the next great trade I can make, but I have noticed some trades that seem legit are always there and when you try to trade for the pokemon it says "Unfortunately, it was traded to another trainer." Has anyone else ran into examples of this, and or know why this happens?

I think it's when Nintendo finds people trading hacks? Idk

Or maybe Pokemon GTS is slow to update that why.

Maybe it is slow, but I have seen the same trades up for months. Example I look for pokemon to trade for on there to complete another trade on there and one time I needed a houndour. When I was looking I found a shiny one that they wanted a gothita for it. That particular trade has been there for at least three months or more.

That sounds like that could be possible thanks for your opinion.

I get this all the time, it so annoying sometimes you would have to go breed a pokemon and then come back to find it can't be traded. I don't ever remember this with black though just the sequels. However it is something I hope will be fixed with the new games.

That shiny houndour? Yes, it's been there for months.

Either it's the slow system or Nintendo is trying to stop hacked Pokemon from being traded.

Yeah, but that didn't stop me from getting a shiny milotic that "time travels" definitely a hack it is from the year 2017.

DS systems usually have tendencies to mess up the date. Whatever date is set on the DS device is the date that is presented in the game.
So I don't think that date has anything to attribute to the Pokemon being a "hack".

There's a Customer Service at the bottom of Pokemon.com If you can, try asking them about this problem. They would reply why it happens in a couple hours. Thanks I am sending them a question right now.

If someone is trying to Trade for the same Pokemon at the same time, the server for that Pokemon crashes the system basically & leaves the Pokemon up there permanently, so, if you ever see any up there, it's because two or more players tried getting the Pokemon at the same time... Basically crashing the sever for that Pokemon saved in the GTS.

More than welcome, you'll see it common in the Magnemite area as so many people go crazy for them.

Really I didn't know people are crazy for magnemites? The ones I have seen people be crazy for are female eevees and female first generation pokemon.

If you ask me more people are crazy about LVL. 9 and unders, metaphorically speaking.

Yeah I know impossible Legendaries it is really annoying.

I don't see why they don't do anything to stop it.
It basically blocks the trade process and clogs the trade slots.

I agree with you, but why do they do it just to show off the Pokemon they have?

maybe or maybe they are cloning their pokemon or something

When you clone a Pokemon, you aren't in the real GTS. You are in the GTS created by Pokecheck, so your Pokemon won't show up there if you clone.

Thats not the kind of cloning I was talking about their is another way to clone using the GTS

Yesterday I saw someone want to trade his Deoxys for SOLOSIS! in GTS, but when I want to trade it "Unfortunately, it was traded to another trainer." appeared LOL, but today it's still there LMAO, I don't know why...
Maybe it's because the Pokémon is hacked

Not any more. I believe after Platinum or HG/SS, you couldn't do it anymore.

My theory on that is that a pokemon doesn't disappear until the original trainer picks up his/her new pokemon

That could be never thought of that. I always assumed it was just a really slow system

I'm still irked at the fact that people always demand such ludicrous requests. You know... Lv.9 and under shenanigans.

Ran into this about a zillion times on magnemite trades...
