Hi guys,

I got a question about Scizor. Is it better to use pursuit or night slash for a adamant technician scizor? Smogon lists pursuit, but i'm not sure if it's as good as night slash.

Any experts want to tell me why pursuit is better than night slash?

As your Scizor has Technician, Pursuit would be better because it has a Base Power of 40, and Night Slash is over the maximum (80) that Technician allows to be doubled (60) so that is why Smogon lists Pursuit. But I wouldn't follow Smogon, I would follow the moveset that suits you best. Not the best for the masses of other players. There's tons and tons of fantastic moves that Scizor can combine with Technician. You just need the ones that suits you best!

But if you're looking for a good moveset, I'd go with this set:

Scizor @ Occa Berry/Steel Gem (When it's released)
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 SDef
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
- Acrobatics/Pursuit
- Swords Dance/Protect

Thief is also an option if you want a dark type move, it has 60 base power now. Works well with Technician.

You'd better run Pursuit. Not only you hit in switches, but you get technician boost.

Scizor @ Scizorite
252HP / 252Def / 4Atk
-Sword Dance.
-Roost / Aerial Ace.
-Bullet Punch.
-Pursuit.

This is the only reason to run M-Scizor. Bulky Sword Dance.
You take hits, you +2. Roost. +2. And can take down Moltres with BP.

I'd go Pursuit for Scizor because of the Technician boost, and really because he forces a lot of things to switch when he comes in so Pursuit allows him to hit things trying to escape. Swords Dance, Bullet Punch, Bug Bite, and Pursuit is what I'd run. Remember Bug Bite is more powerful than X Scissor with Technician, and it screws up Trevenant and Tropius that try to spam unlimited Sitrus berries.

I have one final question about scizor, when he mega evolves does he still get technician ability or does he lose the technician ability adn get another ability?

Mega Scizor has Technician ability. So if he has swarm/light metal then mega evolves he will get the technician ability.

Nice, so scizor is a good Pokemon to have in a competitive team right?

Hey, is it possible to teach Scizor bug Buzz in X & Y?

He gets Bug Buzz as an Egg Move from just about any Bug type that learns it, but Technician Bug Bite does more damage (since his special attack makes Blissey look powerful) and has the bonus of eating a held berry.

D'oh! my bad, i meant Bug Bite. Thanks

So Bug bite isnt an egg move for Scyther in Gen6 and its not a tutor move either. So no way of breeding Scythers with Bug bite? :-(

Unfortunately that seems to be the case. I like to use U-Turn instead, it won't get a technician boost but it can be pretty useful

shame. Any other bug type mover he can learn in 6th gen that get Technician boost?

I'm kinda weird since my scizor uses bullet punch, X scissor, roost, and swords dance
