WARNING: THEORIES AND OTHER STUFF AHEAD, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT OR IF YOU DON'T TOLERATE SPANGRISH, GO AWAY.

As far as I'm concerned, everyone knows that Silver is Giovanni's son, but after some new games, remakes and redesigns of a lot of characters, I think there are some things that must be analyzed about Giovanni and his descendant.

This is from what I know, if you have something to add or say, please do it kindly, not like: "OMG YOU R SO WRONG STFU U SUK THIS IS LIEK THIS IT'S IMPOSSIBEL HE IS SO CUTE"... get it? lol

1.- Who is Silver's mother?.

http://i565.photobucket.com/albums/ss97/Ninetalesuk/HeartGold_SoulSilver_Athena.png

Meet Ariana, she is one of the executives from the Team Rocket Organization, she fights you in Pokemon G/S in Mahogany Town and later in the Johto Radio Tower.

Since the first time I saw her I knew she had something to do with Silver, just look at the hair.

Though, that's the redesign for HG/SS, if you take a look at the sprites from Gold/Silver/Crystal, their hair style is almost the same.

2.- Silver's lost sister.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/thumb/c/ce/Diamond_Pearl_Mars.png/120px-Diamond_Pearl_Mars.png

Mars is one of Team Galactic's commanders in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. You fight her at the Valley Windworks, Lake Verity and the Spear Pillar, you fight her again in Stark Mountain in Platinum.

As soon as you see her design, you can clearly see that her hair style is almost the same as Silver's, no information or backstory is given to this character, so, there is not much to say.

3.- Where is Roark's mother?.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/thumb/8/86/Diamond_Pearl_Roark.png/140px-Diamond_Pearl_Roark.png

Roark is the first Gym Leader from Sinnoh in all 4GEN games.

Again, if you take a close look behind his helmet you can see that his hair is red, and looks almost the same as Silver's, but looks darker/dirtier.

In game, you can only see who is his father, Byron, another Gym Leader from Sinnoh. Though, you never see, hear or learn anything about who is her mother.

Extra off-topic:

4.- Retrospective about Maylene.

http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/thumb/1/15/Diamond_Pearl_Maylene.png/250px-Diamond_Pearl_Maylene.png

Maylene is the third Gym Leader in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, and the fourth one in Pokemon Platinum.

For some reason, I always thought she was out of place, even for a Gym Leader we already had a lot of weird ones before her, but I like her a lot, but after noticing some aspects about her life "in game" I think I made a conclusion.

Her father is always at the Casino wasting money and time. She seems unexperienced to be a Gym Leader and even looks like she lies to you. She doesn't use Potions to cure her Pokemon. In HG/SS she seems to eat a lot, and she is barefoot, even there is emphasis on this.

My Theory: Her father is the real Gym Leader from Veilstone, but he is at the casino all the time because he and Maylene are poor. Maylene has to take the responsibility as the new Gym Leader even if she is unexperienced. She doesn't have money to buy items to cure her Pokemon during battle and for the most obvious reasons, she can't buy shoes.

Probably 3 years after during the events of HG/SS, she is still poor, and that's why she is trying to eat all she can.

That's all for now I think.... I had some fun writing this.

And please, no RAGE. xD

:/ Well just posting these ideas are asking for responses you don't like.

I agree with Silver's possible relative beeing Mars considering that there are moderate similarities. As well as attitudes although Silver does semi-heel face turns when you beat him enough.

Your thoughts on Maylene's backgrounds are completely off in my opinion....almost a bit diluted. Not raging....but pointing out something that was just overshot.

First before you even consider an theory we all have to just come and acknowledge that this is POKEMON and lives on Disney-ium. As in "there is no tragedy or there is always a happy end or a ray of sunshine so bright you can't see the darkness" kind of series.

Second. Maylene is a martial artist. Somehow you failed to mention that her mental discipline might employ her to go shoeless because it's a way to train her body. She even says so in games when she walks to Veilstone that it is training for her.

Third. You are forgetting the law of tropes my good sir. Specifically the trope of the "Big Eater". Fiction will express that characters can eat nigh infinite amounts of food no matter how fat or skinny they are when we know not even an extremely overweight person can eat 9 plates of 3 section meals in real life (This being the amount described in HG/SS pertaining to how much she eats.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BigEater

If you go to the video game tab section this is a literally example

Lastly going back to the Disney-ium powered thing.....The Rocket Game corner is indeed a gambling facility but denote that the currency of the game and that particular place is NOT the same thing. Essentially you aren't in danger of losing money you have acquired. So if Maylene's family is in anyway poor it's not due to her dad spending their earning. I suppose if Maylene's background is any indication then I would agree that her father is a powerful martial artist in his own right (and subsequently a powerful trainer/gym leader). I guess since he likes spending time playing games and Maylene is strong.....she wasn't just chosen for the lulz......then she was best candidate.

Just my two cents. Had to be said. I understand the reasoning behind your other theories but not the Maylene one. :/

Correction...you do have to pay for coins but only coins themselves. When it comes to gambling you're spending the corner's currency.

A good example of analyzing, OR over-analyzing something, maybe you are a fan of her lol

I liked your way to describe everything in a logic way, and as I said, everyone can share and give their own opinions.

"First before you even consider an theory we all have to just come and acknowledge that this is POKEMON and lives on Disney-ium. As in "there is no tragedy or there is always a happy end or a ray of sunshine so bright you can't see the darkness" kind of series."

Pokemon is full of dark things, like the attacks, descriptions of some Pokemon and back stories, even TVtropes has a big section about it in the Nightmare fuel section. Though, I didn't liked that you used that page as one of your arguments for some reason, maybe because it's too obvious when you get x character that acts in x way and you can just look it up there, and calling it a "law" destroyed the seriousness of your comment, it was good though.

A law of tv or any work of drama is conventional :/ That's more obvious. I used it as an example because it is VERY common. Tragedy in Pokemon is in denile of itself. Like in any Pokemon game where a pokemon have died or is dead there is no literal use of the word dead or death itself. Or how about the dark nature of the way pokemon feed and yet there are no visible real world animals in Pokemon....yet you never see pokemon feed on each other. They're content with small brown flavored bits crafted by humans, berries, or poffins. So even dark dex entries and backstories are either wrong or the professors that wrote them are off.

So yes....Disney-ium. The comment wasn't serious. I carry a serious air based on age and even then I was being factual not harsh. ^^

Come to think of it, yeah... The professors are the ones who write all that evil stuff. xD

Yeah....you don't even see any such things in the manga and the manga does have some dark moments but only pertaining to the fact that pokemon do infact die. Other than that you don't see/read about anything. Grr Professor Juniper your lies do not add to your beauty *raises fist*

Still there is something I don't understand at all... -A- why so much focus on the barefoot thing, I think that's some kind of fanservice.

Meh Martial artist. Although Maylene's on the moe looking side of all female gym leaders. You're talking about fan service....look at like just about every other female gym leader. Misty, Clair (anime only), Candice (for reasons I don't think I can explain on this site)

Elesa and Skyla are extreme examples with the former being excusable because she's a model and the latter is just.....why? Especially as a professional pilot

Skyla indeed is the prime example, I don't even understand what is that thing on her head... but sadly, the world of fanservice doesn't stop with the humans.

Thanks for making this comment possible, furries.

I'm very disappointed in the fact that they discontinued the design theme of Electric Type gym leaders. All of the electric gym leaders --hitherto Elesa--had some element of military attire. Lt. Surge had camouflage and standard American Army dress. Watson wore an aviator's jacket. Volkner's outfit was based on the Russian Army uniform (which makes total sense considering Hokkaido's--sinnoh's irl conterpart--proximity to Russia).

Then comes Elesa. A model.

Fanservice.
