Shiny Legendary ORAS Soft Resetting Thread

Hello fellow Pokebayers,

Since most legends (excluding the mascots, rayquaza, and deoxys) are now unlocked for shininess in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, many people are soft resetting to find a shiny. I caught a shiny suicune after 1460 soft resets :)here, feel free to discuss if you're SRing for a shiny legendary or have caught one :) and good luck on your hunts!

Some people soft-resetting only for fun although they already have the shiny Pokemon they wanted in the previous Pokemon game.

To catch a shiny legend is great but to have your name as the OT is just even better. Plus you can nickname it too. Seeing as most people get shiny legends from others.. Anyway when I complete the Delta Episode I'll probably go hunt down Regirock and sr for a shiny one

Once I get the games at Christmas, I will be hunting for a Shiny Dialga, Shiny Thundurus and Shiny Zekrom. Maybe Shiny Giratina as well.

yeah i know man 1800 soft resets??? You guys must have alot of time. I already have a full shiny collection of legends, except for zekrom and reshiram. and the XY shiny locked.

I'm trying to get shiny virizion since I found it by chance in pokemon black and accidentally killed it. it's taking forever though. probably around 120 SR's right now

This must be a pretty dumb question but i'll give it a shot.

I'm standing in front of Groudon now. If I want to SR and hope for a shiny, does it mather where I save? As of right now im standing next to him. Is this enough, or should I save in the neighbouring room?
In other words, does the shiny/non-shiny reset by resetting game, or does entering rooms have any effect?

Also, can I see if he is shiny before attacking him? I'm guessing no, but in the videos i've found he looks kinda green during battle. Was maybe hoping he would change colours while standing in the magma :P Save me the cutscene each time.


Edit: I guess my question can be ignored. Got reports from the Chat that the Groudon and so on are shiny locked.

Well I think it's pretty obvious that Groudon,Kyogre,Rayquaza and Deoxys are shiny locked in ORAS because it's been almost 3 weeks since ORAS has been released and no one encountered those Pokemon in shiny.

I've seen shiny Level 80 deoxys on the gts, so it seems to me only the weather trio are shiny locked.

It's called powersaves. Since Deoxys was available shiny once, even shiny hacked Deoxys can pass the check. Nobody has put forth a battle video with shiny deoxys in oras. Also, the weather trio are unlocked

Well... He WAS available to be caught as shiny but in the latest games the legends are shiny locked so its still possible to get these pokemon but they aren't obtainable via SR but obtainable via old game transfer...
