If you make the legend faint that's it for your chance to catch that legend. Always save before the portal.

ya... definitley save before.... but most of them are easy to catch... specially if u can catch it at night with a dusk ball....
the mirage spots take certain things to open... like level 100 pokemon, certain pokemon being in ur party, u can find it all online just search where to find all the legendaries. the mirage spots never dissapear tho, they just only show under certain conditions.

Uxie can be found between 20:00 and 21:00, Azelf can be found between 21:00 and 03:59 and Mesprit can be found between 04:00 and 19:59

I would also like to add that if you do happen to make the legendary faint, it will respawn after going through the Elite 4 again. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

I'm not sure about every single legend in ORAS but I know for a fact the portal legends like Uxie and the others do respawn if you meet the requirements (time, pokemon, etc) Even Deoxys comes back if you beat it, and Kyogre/Groudon.
