Welcome to the Rainbow League, where a new type of challenge awaits!

The Rainbow League Challenge

The Rainbow League will consist of several gym leaders and eventually, a champion. Your goal is win seven badges by defeating gym leaders. When you have acquired seven badges you will be crowned champion. If there is already a champion, you must battle each other for the champion title. If you lose as champion or you are defeated by the champion, you must re-collect seven badges before challenging again. Once you become champion you will be recorded into the Rainbow League's Hall of Fame and retain your position until you are defeated.

Rainbow League Rules

~The battle format is decided by the gym leader.
~Gym leaders may set the amount of legendary/mythical Pokemon each trainer can use in their gym.
~Gym leaders must use at least 5 Pokemon of their specialized type. They are, however, allowed to use a wild card (a Pokemon not of their type). This can literally be any other Pokemon and is not required to know a move of the gym leader’s type. Note: Arceus is considered a Normal Type, regardless of the plate it is holding.
~Pokemon must have legitimate moves, stats, abilities and shinyness i.e. battle legitimate (no wonderguard spiritomb)
~The Champion is not restricted to any type, and may also choose their preferred format.
~The Challenger must leave a message on this thread every time they start a new challenge.
~Species clause: Trainers may not use more than one Pokemon of the same number in the National Pokedex (i.e. you may not use Rotom-M and Rotom-H in the same team).
~Gym leaders are free to switch to any available types when they want. They must, however, make this public in a message on the Rainbow League thread and continue to battle with their current type until their new team is ready.
~Gym leaders may come to an agreement on format and legendary limit to battle under neutral rules in attempts to simultaneously battle for the other’s badge.
~All battles should be arranged through the Battle Central. Both gym leaders and challengers should try to arrange a time that suits them both for battling.
~It is up to the challenger to notify me if they have earned a badger by leaving a message on this thread. Badges earned will be noted on the Challenge Sheet which is linked below and will be marked by the date you won that badge (American style dating: Month/Day/Year)

~To register as a challenger, simply write your name and friend code in this thread. You will then be registered to the Challenge Sheet and can keep track of the badges you have won for every attempt at the champion title.

Quick League Update

Unfortunately Aaron, our ice leader is no longer able to take part in the League. I'd like to thank him for his time as the ice gym leader and wish him the best in future battling.

It is my understanding that both Jen and Minininja are both available to take challenges now. Yoda is still trying to sort out wi-fi, but should hopefully be good to go soon. If you'd like to challenge them, or any of the leaders, please request a battle through the RL Battle Central, or organise it through pm/vm.

Finally, I'd ask people who are currently challenging the League to make sure their badge count is correct, and for future purposes, please state the badges you have won on this thread, rather than through pm/vm. The challenge sheet can be found here:

Hi everyone.

Just wanted to say that I've been thinking about it lately, I'm gonna switch types. I'm going to switch from Flying to Dragon. Some of you may have noted changes in my page, as well when I am in the chatbox. This is just something I can't ignore. I feel really strongly about switching to that type. I am still no where near many of you, but I aim to try. I learn fast and I'll keep on trying. I don't quit when I feel strongly about something. I've Always been drawn to Dragons, be in books, tv shows, coloring books, statues (I have so many dragon statues at my bfs place), and even Pokemon. This is a Siren Song I have to listen to at least for now.

Until my team is ready, I WILL still be accepting challenges with my birds. These flying bullets have been really awesome, and for now, I'll just semi-retire them. And use them to make better, stronger birds. I will probably alternate between the two. I am just trying to debate if I should finish the Month with the birds or switch by this weekend. I'll keep everyone updated. For now, I'm just going to switch types. Sorry this is so long. I just wanted people to know where I'm coming from and that this isn't just out of the blue. I have a Gym Leader related question! Are wild-card pokemon to follow the same rules as the main league? As in, they have to have a move of the type that I specialise in? I know they probably do, but just wanted to be certain.

I have work apparently from Wed - Saturday (when I dont normally work Saturday and my new boss is a butt...joy). This league already has a Dragon type gym leader. I'd suggest you message Thorne but if I'm honest, activity here has been a little dry with not many battles. I think there will be a league reboot when Sun and Moon comes out.
