Mine was yellow too! :) Well, tbh it was my sister's but she never really played and she got red soon after, as well as an older gameboy(the grey one that looks like a brick :P) so I kept yellow and i've been a nostalgic nerd ever since! I also have to have a pikachu/raichu in my main team for every generation! XD

I must say, I am somewhat surprised at the results of this poll (albeit only 17 users voted).

I am happy that many of the original fans (Gen 1) have stayed true to the series as I have.
I am also happy that the franchise has maintained that level of attraction and fascination for the "newer" fans.

Thank you Satoshi Tajiri, Junichi Masuda, Ken Sugimori, Go Ichinose, and everyone involved with perpetuating a cultural icon.

I started with Red and Blue. I am 20 years old now...dang. I remember when Mewtwo was the top Pokemon. I feel old for the franchise but I am waiting for a hoenn remake for the DS specifically so I can have all regions on the DS (I call HG/SS Kanto and Johto). After that, I am done. I was made fun of in school even in elementary school because most fans had quit after Generation II Johto. I am glad to be a part of the continuing evolution of the franchise I enjoy. :D

I was Pokémon Red, my sister had Pokéemon Blue and that see-thru Gameboy she swindled from a boy that liked her.

The first one I ever actually owned was a Japanese Pokémon Silver. I had no idea what I was doing, and then I beat the Elite Four. Somehow.

Like a boss?

My first Pokemon game was Blue. Got it for the Gameboy Color. Got to the end of the game and after I beat the Elite 4, when I was returned home, I thought that was it so I restarted the game. How dumb I was at the age of, like, 6. Lol.

The first time I ever played Pokémon was the Yellow Version. Got into a bit of trouble on that one. Then another guy at summer camp lent me the Blue Version. The first game I ever owned was Pokémon Gold.

The first Pokemon game I started out with was Pokemon Red then I got Pokemon Blue and Pokemon Yellow. All three were my favorites. Truly, Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, and Pokemon Yellow are classics that got some of us started on Pokemon.

I began with Red Version. What a fun journey that was! My total noobness is just hilarious when I think back on it, lol. And the remakes of Red and Blue were just fantastic! I'd say HG/SS were the best games ever though. They took it to a whole 'nother level lol.

The first game I beat was Yellow when I was 7-8 years old, but the first one I actually owned, that continues to be my favourite one, was Sapphire. I remember just thinking about how much the game had changed since I had played Yellow when I was little.

the first game that I tried and finished was Pokémon Yellow that my stepsister had, so when she was fininshed I replayed the whole game.

the first games that owned was Silver and Crystal that I found on a playground in Denmark and the owner never came to claim them.
the most challenging part of those two games was that it was translated to the German language, which didn't make the quests easy to finish, but somehow I managed to complete them both.

but the first pokemon game that I bought myself was Pokémon Pearl.
