I finally have pokemon platinum working!

I am creating a new game on Platinum because i had rubbish pokemon on it. Nothing will be lost.

And before doing that I tested whether I could connect to wifi and all... And it now works!
So I need some help choosing a starter and possibly a whole new team..
I am a big fan of Chimchar but he seems a bit weak actually.
Piplup is cute and I like empoleon..
Turtwig is weird but his last form is resistant to electric..

So i need help! Post here and help me please, thanks

I have SS, so if you decide on any Kanto or Johto pokemon, let me know and I'll catch or breed one. For starters I have Totodile, Squirtle and Chikorita. I could send you one of my wish/volt tackle Pichus in 4th gen too.

Can soul silver and platinum trade? And I would like a pichu please. I dont have much seeing as i just started. I would like the totodile as well because I'm gonna pick Chimchar.
