The HeartGold/SoulSilver Johto battle theme, it just made battles seem and feel more epic.

Yup, this happened to me a few times, most of the time on FireRed. Otherwise I RNG my shinies when I go looking for them intentionally.

They don't suck. They're like other Pokemon. People want them because some Pokemon look cooler as shinies, plus shinies are rare. Take shiny Charizard for example. Personally, i think it looks A LOT...
You can't catch Rayquaza in 5th Gen. Only way is to trade with someone who has one or transfer it from a previous gen.
