I'm NOT saying you'd copy them, but being familiar with the art...base...thingy, like deviantArt, usually, when people create this kind of thread they just want to copy the characters posted...

I've never seen a single dragon named Voltara, but instead, I've seen a million versions of those other names.
I once saw this completely rainbow colored character, with not a single white spot on it...
...it was named Snow. 38 DEAR LORD WHY...

Darn. If you look on DA you'll see voltaras....I never knew these names were taken. It makes me sad. I thought I was creative.

I'm quite sure pretty much EVERYONE who draws has had characters named like "Snow" or "Shadow" and so on. BUT, making those kinds of names up knowing there are millions of those kinds of names is just stupid. (Or claiming that they're original and they made them up themselves, and when they see another character named for example Shadow, they go nuts and start screaming that they copied the name from them.) But since you made them up yourself, without knowing they're rather used names, you're still being creative.

There's no need to get upset, as in my opinion, there are no original characters in this World anymore. Everything's invented already. DX Every name, every color combination, every markings on every character, all items, stories...It's rather depressing, really, thinking I simply can't come up with anything new anymore. Because I'm sure there's someone who has the exact same character I have...if not exact, atleast very close to the same.
Like my signature says..."You're unique. Just like everyone else."
