Game freak and nintendo are japanese companies, ya know? It makes sense to release this event in japan first. Also it's a promotion for the movie which will firstly be released in japan as well.Originally Posted by Gdsk1120

But things are getting better with the worldwide XY release, I hope we'll get future events at the same time as japanese people. That'll be cool.
