Core Training in X and Y

So, apparently there is a new feature in X & Y called "Core Training". It comprises of different Training Regimens, which your Pokemon complete to increase their Base Stats. Wait, rewind a sec. Did I hear that right?Base Stats!? But Base Stats are what make each species of Pokemon unique! (bar typing and ability) Being able to change these means being able to change EVERYTHING! Maybe Core Training may have a limit to the amount you can train so it's not totally broken, and maybe all Core Training changes are reset for official tournaments, but still, this is a bit weird. So, what are your thoughts on this?

It lets you do EVs, yes, you can see them and train in them without fighting Pokemon in the wild
As memories of you fade into myths, new memories could be made, detailing your adventure.
So leave the greastest impact possible and you won't be talked about incorrectly.

It's an easier way of EV Training. Because inexperienced or younger players may not be able to do EV training as the system currently is. It's just a matter of making it more accessible and universal. Which is kinda what Junichi Masuda said of this.
