It was a shiny Rattata, in Pokémon Silver (NOT Soul Silver, but the original). I remember seeing the screen flash with the stars, and wondering if the game had glitched. But I caught it anyways.

I was breeding togepi for perfect iv's and to my amazement when i finally got one with 6 perfect IV's it was also shiny! Didn't have serene grace though but i sorted that with an Ability Cap. First shiny and literally couldn't be more perfect

My first shiny was a machoke in pearl. I didn't know what it was, I actually thought my game had a bug. My friend had a normal gyarados which I needed for my dex, so I traded him the shiny machoke for his normal gyarados, thinking I was getting the glitch out of my game, (and of course it turned into machamp when traded). Then, like two months later, shiny gyarados appears in the lake of rage!

My first was a shiny spheal in Sapphire. I found it in that cave near Mossdeep City and was soooo surprised and confused when I saw a purple spheal and saw the stars fly by lol

my first shiny besides from red gyradoes in pokemon gold version GB colour game was also a shiny rattata, it looked awesome in pokemon stadium 2.
