    Easy Shiny Breeding!!

I'm not 100% positive if this is true for 4th and 5th gen, but if you breed a shiny you have a 1/64 chance of getting a shiny egg. When you breed with foreign pokémon (Masuda's Method) you have a 1/1639 chance in 4th gen and a 1/1366 chance in 5th gen. If you combine these two methods, if my math was done in the right way, it should be about a 4.6% chance of a shiny egg!! This is about 1 in every 20-25! I don't have any shiny and foreign pokémon so I can't tell if it would work, or if the 1/64 shiny chance is still active, so try it and tell if it works!

I've only bred a few zorua eggs trying to get a shiny but I'll keep trying. I believe someone once only bred 48 eggs to get a shiny zorua.

It took me a month to get my shiny Staryu. Started breeding it on November 27th, 2011 and got it on December 27th, 2011. I also bred a shiny Gligar which took 4 days. Started on December 1st, 2011 and got it on December 5, 2011. Then I bred a shiny Yanma and that only took one day with less than 60 eggs hatched. Now I've been breeding for a shiny Snivy started hatching eggs on December 27, 2011 and now it's February 6, 2012 and still no shiny Snivy. Snivy is being very stubborn right now, lol. I used the Masuda Method for all Pokemon that I've bred for shiny. Getting a shiny is all about chance, if you study or take a course in statistics you would know that the chances will be the same. For example you grab an egg from the daycare man, that egg has a 1/1366 of being a shiny. Then you grab another egg and that egg will have the same probability as well which is 1/1366 not 2/1366.

Hmm. Seeing as I've been breeding for a shiny Litwick for 3 months now, Masuda Method is not quite as foolproof as you think. I've been using a Japanese Litwick (mother) and one of my own Litwick. Each egg has a separate chance of 1/1366. The odds don't add up to your favour the more eggs you breed. BTW. 1/1366 is not 1 out of 25, it is 1 out of 1366.

I'm not sure if the breeding with the shiny Pokemon to increase the shiny rate is correct :/ but I do know that the Masada is the most effective way to obtain a shiny Pokemon I have received a Japanese ditto, which I treasure because I can use it to masuda anything! I have only received one shiny so far using it but I just recently started. It took about 50 eggs to get my shiny treeko

I think thunderpick2 is right about the 1/64 thing. Also Iv been breeding for a zoura for about a month and 750 eggs later no luck yet. I heard of a guy who got his on no 2140 or something close to that so its all up to chance like even if you breed 1366 eggs there is no certainty one will be shiny as if you went to 2732 the odds are you get 2 shinys but both may be in the second half eg. between egg no 1366 and 2732. Its like those bottles of coke that say 1 in 50 is a winning bottle even if you buy fifty bottles you may not get a winning one.

Breeding shiny pokemon have no effect on whether or not the baby will be shiny. The Masuda method is legit though. Got a perfect shiny axew in about 26-28 eggs. So I know for a fact it works

I have a shiny Japanese Monferno(female) that I breed with a regular Monferno(male) but haven't had a shiny egg yet.
