With Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon fast approaching, I have decided to host a monotype tournament. To participate players must be active and ready to battle over the next 3-4 weeks. Before you apply please carefully read the rules below.
Battle Rules
*All participants must be able to battle on a Sun/Moon cartridge.
*Participants must decide on a type before the tournament and use the same type throughout the entirety of the tournament (NOTE: Multiple competitors may use the same type. E.G. More than 2 people can use the Psychic Type).
*Pokemon must have legal stats, abilities, moves, shininess, etc,. All held items must also be legally obtainable in Sun/Moon at this time.
*All battles will be 6v6 in single format using normal rules.
*Participants are allowed use all Pokemon of their chosen type, including dual-types.
*The following Pokemon are banned: https://www.serebii.net/sunmoon/battletree.shtml
*Species Clause: Participants may not use more than 1 Pokemon of the same dex number in battle.
*Participants may use multiple of the same items.
*Participants may use mega pokemon. However, the pokemon must be of their chosen type BEFORE it mega evolves (E.G. A Rock-type user may use Mega Aggron, but a Fighting-type user may NOT use Mega Loppunny).
*All current legal Z-Crystals/Moves in Sun/Moon that also comply with the rules of the tournament are allowed.
*Participants may change Pokemon, moves and items on their teams between battles.
*Battle videos must be saved and posted after each battle.
Tournament Format
*After registration is complete, competitors will be randomly placed into groups (the size of groups depends on how many people apply).
*Each competitor will battle the other competitors in their group in a round Robin(lol) format .
*Group battles do not have to take place in a specific order, but all battles must be completed in the designated time frame.
*Competitors with the highest points in each group will advance to play offs, where the winner of the tournament will be decided.
*Competitors get 2 points for winning a battle.
*In addition, if a competitor wins against an opponent who has a type that is super effective against their type they gain 1 bonus point. A competitor may also gain 1 consolation point if they lose (0-2), or (0-1) to someone who has a type super effective against theirs (NOTE: Type resistances and immunities do not count towards bonus and consolation points.
*In the event of a tie in the group stage the winner will be determines by who has the better KO deficit. If it is still a tie the two competitors will battle to decide who advances.
Applying
To apply for the MULTI-HYPE TOURNAMENT please leave your In-game name, FC, and your provisional type in the comment below. You may change your type before the tournament starts, but must stick to your type once the groups have been drawn.
The deadline to apply for this tournament is Friday, October 6th, 6pm(BST). Groups and the battle period will be decided shortly after.
