For those of you who haven't read reports, there is a rare glitch in Pokemon X and Y that can cause your save to become corrupted leaving you with no other choice but to restart your game from scratch.

Nintendo of Japan sent out a press release this morning confirming that this glitch does exist.

The bug is caused when players attempt to save their game outside a building in Lumiose City. Below is a map of the affected area of Lumiose City (the blue shaded areas).


For now it is recommended you save inside a building in Lumiose City if you have to save there otherwise save outside the city entirely. Nintendo are working on a fix that will be able to be downloaded.

This glitch affects both the physical cart versions of the games and the digital eShop versions.
