• Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon to introduce new Ultra Beasts

Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are entering new territory by introducing (at least) two new Pokemon mid-generation.

Not much is known at the moment but UB Burst and UB Assembly will be introduced in the upcoming Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon games, releasing November 2017. As well as the two new Pokemon, new forms will be released including Dusk form Lycanroc, Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma.

A preview of the new Pokemon and forms can be seen in the video below:

I don't know what it is, is it the very small amount of content they've showed us, the extremely boring sounding photoediting thing they'll force you to use once during storyplay or what it is about these games but I'm just not excited for them. Much less for the new Ultra beasts. There's not one that's design I'd like. They almost feel like really bad excuses to put more legendaries in without them actually being legendaries. People asked for more megas and we got this.
I'm still going to get the games, but I'm just REALLY not feeling them at all. There's still some time to go though so maybe that'll change and I'll be blown away and hyped beyond what is possible - but I really don't see that happening.

I'm really excited to know more about Necrozma, but everything else seems a little bit dull to be honest.
I don't understand why they think that just changing the box Legends will make people want to buy the new game, I'd love if they made new pokemon, or new aloloan forms or just NEW content, instead of repackaging the old game with 2 new legendary forms and two new UB's.
We still don't know everything so I hope they reaveal something that blows us all away too.

Me too, I feel like the new UB's are just a wall and an umbrella

I'm very much in this same category. I was very excited for the original Sun & Moon but from moment one these games just haven't appealed to me. I'm also concerned about adding new Pokemon mid-generation because if they don't update Sun & Moon to accept them we've got some gen 7 Pokemon that can't be swapped to the other games. I guess only time will tell but what they should do isn't necessarily the same as what they will do.

They did the "adding pokemon halfway through a gen" ~technically~ with the ORAS only megaforms. I don't see them patching S/M to accept these new UBs since they didn't patch X/Y back then either, but I would love to be wrong on this one.

I don't consider mega forms to be new Pokemon though. My rule: No pokedex entry, no Pokemon :P

Well Megas actually do have pokedex entries if you look them up in pokebank-dex but yeah Megas aren't "new" Pokémon either way imo

I wasn't feeling anything for the games before, which was alarming because they're so close to release, but now I'm actually interested a bit.

Despite them saying before that this would be "an alternate story" it seems like we're going to experience "the key to the story", which is Necrozma. That interests me since I think Necrozma is a Pokemon with a cool concept that could be used to make an interesting plot and it seems like that will be the case in USUM as we see it battle, capture, and fuse with Solgaleo and Lunala. That is good because it seems to be a mixture of Platinum and BW2, both games I personally enjoyed, as opposed to the so expected Pokemon Eclipse. But I strongly feel like they kept that idea on mind as Necrozma seems to be trying to "capture" Solgaleo/Lunala with its dark prism armor in order for it to shine on its own, after all, remember that they said "A new light shines on Alola." They'll make Necrozma the bad guy and it will sure be interesting to see how good of a job they do at it.

The new UBs look okay, for UBs anyway lol. At first my reaction was like "what is this thing?" but that was also my reaction to Guzzlord and Buzzwole. Must admit that UB-Burst has grown on me though. The design is so abstract and its movement are so silly that it actually makes you curious, it even comes through the Ultra Wormhole spinning happily like it's a regular day. Another thing is that it makes me super curious to what its typing might be. We see it use what seems to be a signature move for it, where it makes its head/ball explode, and it sounds like it is super effective on both Decidueye and Metagross. The only weaknesses these two share are Fire, Dark and Ghost, so if you know me, you bet I am dying to find out if it is indeed part Ghost lol.

You'd think that Nintendo and GF would have the technology to be able to patch games like XY and SM and upgrade them with new Pokemon/items in released in new games. It really bothered me they left us with battle and trade restrictions between XY and ORAS. I guess from a business point of view, it makes sense, you want people to buy your games. But it's honestly a bit unfair and seems just lazy from their part.
